ShramKanoon (Shram Kanoon) — India's Four New Labour Codes
ShramKanoon is a free, plain-language, bilingual (English & हिंदी) guide to India's four new Labour Codes, in force across India since 21 November 2025. The four Codes consolidate 29 central labour laws into a modern framework for wages, industrial relations, social security and workplace safety.
The four Labour Codes
- Code on Wages, 2019 — universal minimum wage, a national floor wage, the 50% wage (basic + DA) rule, and timely, equal pay.
- Industrial Relations Code, 2020 — mandatory appointment letters, fixed-term employment with pro-rata benefits, and 14 days' strike notice.
- Code on Social Security, 2020 — gig & platform workers covered, pro-rata gratuity, 26-week maternity benefit and portable, Aadhaar-linked benefits.
- OSHWC Code, 2020 — single registration, licence and return; free health check-ups; and women permitted in all roles, including night shifts.
